Deanna Moore Memorial Bench Fundraiser
Inspired by Deanna's family, The Sitka Rotary Club and SAFV are partnering to commission a yellow cedar bench with a hummingbird inlay to be located at SAFV's shelter, to honor Deanna's legacy and serve as inspiration to SAFV residents and staff. At the time of her passing, Deanna served as the Shelter Supervisor at SAFV. Her strong, caring presence was felt throughout the shelter. Deanna had a positive impact on the community and touched many people throughout her career. Her loss has been felt deeply by the Sitka community and all staff and clients of SAFV. Deanna’s passion for helping others to discover a safer and healthier path is part of her legacy.

The bench will be designed and crafted by local woods craftsman, Zach LaPerriere, from wood salvaged from the Tongass National Forest. The hummingbird design will be created by Alaska Native artist, Mary Goddard.
