Executive Director
Sitkans Against Family Violence (SAFV), a non-profit organization dedicated to the empowerment of women and children and to the elimination of personal and societal violence, is currently seeking an energetic and creative Executive Director. Serving the Southeast Alaska communities of Sitka, Angoon, Kake, and Port Alexander, the Executive Director is responsible for executing a $900,000 annual operating budget, managing a 25 bed shelter, directing a team of 17 employees, and overseeing all outreach and education programs.
The successful candidate will possess a successful track record in directing planning, organizational development, financial management, program development and delivery, public relations, personnel management and resource development activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
• In-depth knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault
• High School diploma or equivalency
• Passion for eliminating violence against women
Desired Qualifications:
• Five years’ experience in a senior management or executive role, preferably in the non-profit sector.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Professional training or experience with domestic violence and sexual assault issues, including knowledge of relevant state and federal laws.
• Strategic thinker with a creative and collaborative leadership style.
• Financial management and budgeting experience, preferably with a non-profit organization.
• Experience securing and administering grants and other funding sources.
• Proven ability to serve as a strong advocate and spokesperson and to solicit, build, and maintain strong relationships with corporate sponsors, foundations and other funding sources, and government and local communities.
• Experience managing staff, team building, working with a Board of Directors, and excellent communication skills.
